Burt’s Bees draws its sustainability initiative from the lessons of bees, with the belief that creating a world where bees thrive benefits all. The release of the report in 2012 demonstrates the brand’s commitment to reducing its environmental footprint with both short and long term goals reviewed up until 2020.

Not only is the importance of the natural maintained, with more than half of the brand’s products now 100% natural and no product under the 95% mark; a commitment to responsible sourcing of ingredients for their popular beauty buys is continued with a three-year road map to guide the brand’s approach to tracing raw materials.

As well as this, Burt’s Bees packaging strives for the highest possible post-consumer recycled (PCR) content possible, pursuing innovative ways to do more with less material, with the next goal to limit waste energy to less than 10% of the total bi-product; already having met its zero-waste-to-landfill goal in 2010.

Finally Burt’s Bees continues their commitment to giving through investments in sustainable agriculture and pollinator habitat, supporting the intersection of human and honeybee health.
